Description

The real plus for us with our apartment (040) over many others is LOCATION. We literally can ski back to our own terrace for coffee, lunch or even a loo break. From our terrace you can step onto one of the feeder pistes that run through the village. We put our skis on and ski down to a choice of 4 lifts which access the different sectors.

We spent 5 weeks this summer in 1950. (It is our home in The Alps!) We drive and enjoy the French roads but hate the trip across to Eurotunnel from South Wales. This year we worked and redecorated the apartment throughout. In addition we had many of the light fittings upgraded and some of the pine furniture replaced with Solid Oak Cabinets. We have used “Going Classic” to upgrade of the artwork.

The master double bedroom has a full bathroom en-suite. There is also a twin bedded bedroom that uses a separate shower room and an additional toilet. The lounge has a double sofa bed. The kitchen is fully fitted with top end appliances including a full fan assist oven, SMEG dishwasher and SMEG fridge. There is a quadruple induction hob and under-counter microwave to complete the full kitchen.

My wife and I bought our apartment when Sources de Marie was being built. Our children ski raced at National level on the “dry slope” circuit in the UK and as school pupils raced on snow in The British School Boys and British School Girls Races for many years. Our son progressed to race on the slalom circuit on snow (getting his FIS points down to double figures) and lived and trained in Austria for 3 years. He was then our countries No 1 ranked snow skier … regrettably that is not the same as No 1 in Austria, France etc!. We chose our apartment because it is truly ski in ski out. In the summer we have our Mountain Bikes on our terrace and in Winter we ski back to the apartment patio door for coffee! We are at the quiet end of the village. We step two metres and we are on the piste running through 1950 which leads directly down to 3 fantastic lifts that connect directly to our area, Arc 1800 and Arc 1600. In addition, the Vanoise Express linking Les Arcs to La Plagne is only 1 lift away from our door! I am a self employed shop owner and my wife is a “retired” Banker. We usually drive to our apartment and have discovered some great stop overs to make the journey enjoyable. (each time we wish there was not the 4 hour drive from Dover back to our home in Wales!) Arc 1950 is somewhere we delight in sharing with family and friends.
